Friday is St. Patrick's Day, in 1967 as it is this year, and while nobody thought to dye the Mississippi River green, there was a parade in St. Paul, the more Irish of the two Twin Cities. You can see that on Channel 4, along with some other interesting shows, and some that were probably not so interesting. Lots of clips this week, though!
Folk Guitar, hosted by Laura Weber, was a production of the Bay Area's KQED and ran on the N.E.T. feed. I have no fondness for folk music, so I don't have any memories to share myself, but here's a clip from a 1969 episode.
I was going to say that Gorgo sounded like something for Mystery Science Theater, but why say it when you can see it?
Lawbreaker, as I think I've mentioned before, was hosted by Lee Marvin, and was a sort of docudrama, in which various crimes were re-created, using as many of the original participants as possible, including in some cases the criminals involved. You could tell most of the people involved weren't professional actors (or even amateur ones), but it was still interesting.
On the other hand, I do remember You Don't Say!, which was a kind of variation of Password. See if you remember it.
This week's episode of The Time Tunnel involves our heroes going back in time to help King Arthur protect his throne from the Vikings. It's a pity they didn't also help him protect his wife from Sir Lancelot - but that would have been an episode of Divorce Court.
That 5:00 p.m. show, People, Pests, Pesticides, sounds like a real winner, doesn't it?

James "Scotty" Reston, host of the 8:00 p.m. show, was one of the best-known and most respected Washington correspondents of the time, working for many years for The New York Times. I think we can, therefore, assume that this program was about the political scene, and might have touched on Vietnam.
